Abstract / Summary

Donald Trump's election campaign deployed strategies of speculation with which the rather more progressive speculative design community is wary of being aligned. Reading the particular slogan "Make America Great Again," this article reconsiders the progressiveness of contemporary speculative philosophies in light of Trump's abuse of the speculative objectification of language, and calls for a more politically engaged deconstructive consideration of language as a special case amongst the sea of ontological objects.
