Abstract / Summary
The writer Jack Clemo is best known for his awkward and brutal anti-nature poetry. However, for much of his life he thought of himself as a writer of fiction. Collected together here for the first time, I have edited and introduced a complete collection of Clemo's early fiction written in Cornish dialect. The introduction contextualizes dialect writing in the mid-twentieth century, as well as the importance of these tales in the life and progression of this important working class rural poet of international renown.
