Wilson, Mike (2007) Storytelling and Ideology: what the stories we tell, tell us. In: Well-Spoken: Storytelling and Narrative in Healthcare, 16 - 17 June 2007, University of Central Lancashire/Northern Centre for Storytelling, Grasmere, Cumbria, UK.
Abstract / Summary
“I take as my starting point the idea of stories as vehicles for meaning that is decoded
through the interaction of performer and audience . Stories reveal our negotiated and multiple identities and how we see ourselves. I will discuss why we tell certain stories, how meaning is negotiated and how we might decode and derive meaning from the process of storytelling, rather than simply the story itself.”
