Abstract / Summary: | ‘The Visitors’ is a vinyl LP record of which I have complete creative ownership of the music, illustration and design. ‘The Visitors’ endeavours to create a total environment of sound, word and image, and is a continuation of my multi-disciplinary professional practices. With this record, and others, I aim to create sound which is synonymous with the illustration and design. ‘The Visitors’ was published by Alt Vinyl Records in 2012 with particular attention to high quality production values. This was produced as a physical vinyl record in order to be documented in an archival format that will last for many years amongst different collections. ‘The Visitors’ is available internationally via a number of web outlets and retailers. My records are subsequently reviewed in the quality international music press, including Wire magazine and Record Collector magazine, as well as being documented and reviewed online at a number of underground music websites including Terrascope, Foxy Digitalis, Brainwashed and The Outer Church. This record, although standing alone, forms part of a large personal discography of more than 20 vinyl and compact disc releases, which are spread across a host of international record labels. These records also help to support and promote my practices as musician and illustrator, which have seen me performing on international stages, composing music and sound for film and installations, alongside commercial illustration commissions for magazines including The Guardian Weekend Magazine, Resurgence magazine and IPC Media. My music has made frequent appearances on international radio, the most recent of which was on Wire magazine’s radio show Adventures in Sound and Music: http://www.thewire.co.uk/audio/on-air/adventures-in-sound-and-music-12-july-2012 |
