National Geographic Illustrated Maps: Colombia, Queensland,

During July 2015 I was commissioned to produce two illustrated maps of both Colombia and also Queensland, Australia to accompany articles in the UK edition of the National Geographic Traveller Magazine. The objective of the illustrations are to visually support the travel writing by bringing to life, the journey of the writer through the region in question form of spot illustrations.

This type of illustration requires the illustrator to be both accurate in their representation of the area being written about while at the same time seducing the reader to pause and spend time with the article. As the illustrator I am attempting to support the writer in delivering a meaningful sense of what they experienced during their journey in both countries
