Abstract / Summary: | 64 Telepathic Moments is an installation made up of sixty-four digital prints on paper with analogue notation in paint and pencil. It refers to 64 telepathic moments as they seep into being. The work considers the relation between the materialism of and organisational form of the gridded installation, and the dematerialism and non-organisational form of dispersed ephemera. The work exists on the border between painting and non-painting: Emerging slowly through intimate encounters within everyday life, the work slips along the border between invisible form and signified moment. Existing as fragile traces of shared passages between elements, the work resists ‘standing in’ for life and resists becoming a substitute for real events. Coming together, fading away in a register of mutual existence, it marks unconscious, telepathic moments of change and transgression. |
