Scending

Abstract / Summary:	'Scending' is work for flute, piccolo, alto flute and bass flute (1 player) and button accordion. It was commissioned by flautist William Sleath and accordionist Milos Milivojevic, with funds awarded by the Britten-Pears Foundation. The fourth movement 'TRAN-Scending' was completed first and premiered at the Exchange, Penzance on 20th June 2015, with a subsequent performance at the Barbara Hepworth museum, St Ives. Three further movements were completed on 22nd May 2016. The premiere of the complete work is scheduled to take place on 28th April 2017 at the Exchange, Penzance. 'Scending' is dedicated to my former colleague Bob Gilmore and lasts a total of 45 minutes.
