Abstract / Summary:

HUG is Verity Standen's award winning vocal a cappella performance piece. A core of professional singers work with a variety of people in workshops teaching them the multi layered harmonies and coaching them for performance. The performance is an immersive vocal soundscape where each member of the public is blindfolded and then hugged by a performer for much of the performance. For these performances a selection of people from many workshops around the country were invited to sing for these shows.
