Abstract / Summary

This presentation discusses the two short Continuing Professional Development (‘CPD’) courses which Cornwall Business School have developed in partnership with A Greener Festival and Attitude is Everything. These on-line courses are delivered simultaneously to university students and industry practitioners, empowering networking, and incorporating specialist input from industry partners. The courses upskill the global live music events community, to improve their practices around accessibility for people who are Deaf or disabled and the sustainability of their live events.

The CPD courses are hosted on the Canvas Virtual Learning Environment and comprise a mixture of asynchronous lecture materials, online tasks and forums, synchronous ‘expert’ webinars and multiple-choice assessment. The CPD courses are intended to spread best practice and work through joint promotion to networks/memberships. They run up to 3 times a year and the first to launch was with AGF in September 2017.

Bringing students and industry together to help develop student knowledge, confidence, employability, and help practitioners to understand the HE offer and value to industry was discussed.

The presentation was attended by 16 academics from AEME member Universities.
