Abstract / Summary

This keynote presentation considers accessibility for audiences attending live music events through the lenses of audiences, education and research.

It considers The Live Audience Accessibility & Augmentation 2 Beat Blocks (‘LAAA2BB’) which evaluates user experience/perceptions of the authenticity of their live experience when experiencing haptic flooring which turns sound into felt vibrations at selected music festivals. The presentation also considered the initial LAAA project which installed a haptic dance floor at Falmouth University in May 2023, as well as previous research publications by the author.

The conference incorporated field tests of the haptic dance floor, supported by Falmouth student volunteers, Helen Worthington, Antti Saario and Adam Jones and Mandy Curtis from the University of Brighton. there is more information about the conference at the following link:
