Additional Information: | A book created from an HLF funded community project - the title refers to local slang now rarely heard. Lucy trained volunteers and between them they interviewed over 100 people. Walks were created by using the memories and input from local historians and experts. Some local historians were invited to write about their particular area of research. The book is illustrated using photographs, documents and so on from people interviewed and from those images preserved by Hayle Community Archive plus other local archives, such as Cornish Studies Library, Royal Cornwall Museum and Cornwall Record Office as well as national archives such as the Imperial War Museum. The book can be looked at free online or the second edition can be bought at a subsidised price from Hayle Community Archive http://www.haylearchive.org.uk/ |
