Abstract / Summary

This submission is an edited version of a book essay, commissioned in 2016 by Marmalade Publishers of Visual Theory for the bookwork White Noise. The bookwork is the result of a collaborative drawing residency by artists Greig Burgoyne and Rossella Emanuele at the Centre for Recent Drawing (C4RD) in London, 2015. The essay discusses the artwork this residency produced from a viewer's perspective, described in phenomenological terms relating to both performance and place.
