Abstract / Summary

A one day symposium to launch the CHEAD Gallery Network taking place at Falmouth School of Art and including visits to The Exchange in Penzance and a tour of the recently opened Tate St Ives. Through speakers including Helen Cooper (Plus Tate) and Alistair Hudson, Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art the symposium will introduce the expertise of Tate’s Plus Tate programme, to inform a workshop on developing the network. The symposium is a key event for anyone involved with gallery spaces or collections within higher education institutions.

CHEAD operates this network for staff from our member galleries to:

• Provide a professional network for colleagues with Galleries and Collection in the CHEAD membership
• Promote knowledge and understanding throughout and beyond the gallery network
• Promote and share best practice between member and associated gallery networks
• Promote galleries and associated resources as part of the research, knowledge transfer, scholarly scholarship and public engagement infrastructure for art and design.
