| Abstract / Summary: | How to be in the Future, group exhibition at Crosslane Projects Vestry Street, London in May 2024 "Taking inspiration from the ‘future thinking’ of speculative fiction and looking at a wide range of fields from science and technology to spiritual, ecological and socio-economic issues, the exhibition highlights multiplicities and the complex interplay at work in global dynamics. The works, individually and collectively, draw on associations from different subjectivities and contested /histories facilitating a space for contemplation and the discussion of positive futures." Knowledge Exchange Event: The Salon Participating artists were asked to share their inspiration, research and critical thinking in a public forum. To facilitate the Salon’s expanding network and increase women, including trans women and non binary, artists’ visibility each participating artist was asked to nominate another artist and/or practitioner from another field to be part of a public discussion and related social media representations. Thus, in the spirit of a Salon the exhibition provided a platform for a public discussion of creative knowledge exchange between practitioners from various interdisciplinary fields. |
