A Seduction In To Life

Southworth, Kate (2016) A Seduction In To Life. [Artwork]

Item Type: Artwork
Creators: Southworth, Kate
Abstract / Summary:

A seduction in to life begins to imagine the relation between painting and non painting.

Its form does not displace but shifts the dominant, phallic conceptualisation of a post-internet world where discrete elements, modularised and homogenised, enact their destructive relations of indifference. At the borders between painting and non-painting, elements mutually transform with and through each other. Now that dissemination and production are in altered relations, perhaps the artwork becomes a means of imagining the not yet imagined: aesthetically inciting but not predicting its unfolding.
