Abstract / Summary

This paper examines the confluence of nationalism, misogyny and Anti-Semitism as elicited by Anish Kapoor's public sculpture for the Gardens at Versailles, France, and the responsibilities of the artist in bringing about the expression of this particular cluster of sentiments. It takes into consideration the historical, social and political context of *Dirty Corner* and forms the kernel of a forthcoming book proposal on deconstructive feminist art historical method.
