Bigger SerieS: Classical Element - Air

With the population growing, the city expanding, the supply chain transparency issue, the concern about healthy food and nutrition pushes people to consider new way of being self-efficient. With the boom of self-made, home seed sprouting is a way of getting fresh, nutritious food rapidly with minimal resource, space and creating pleasure. Indeed plant have a positive effect on human being in relation to biophilic design.
This project investigates an greenhouse rhyming and protecting the evolution of seed sprouting and plants. In others word, it is a cloche which helps plant growth by creating a protective atmosphere meanwhile reducing or playing with the air stream. It is in tune with the surrounding environment thanks to the gap which allows the plant to strengthen. The cone can be used in both way following the shape, and the needs of the plant. This project considers time and protective relationships through the observation of nature development. It suggests an hourglass rhymed by the plant growing.

This project values biodiversity and uniqueness of a series through material experimentation and playing with the variability of the duplication or iterative process. Experimentation on material - glass, bioplastic, copper, cork- properties, effects, process, recyclability and its complementary material is part of the research, time creation and uniqueness of each design object.
A base version with a landscape pattern on cork using CNC technology on one face is experimented in order to semantically and functionally illustrate agricultural groove such as furrow and facilitate the spread of the seed. The object considers dismountability to ease recyclability and transport. The offcut is planned to be used as a prop.

The object birth date and its symbolic name referring to the periodic table are inscribed under the object to emphasize the object attachment and emotional bonding to the object.
Bigger Series has been selected at Bridge - Caen 2014, Cumulus - Hong kong 2016 and Now le off - Paris 2017 where millions of visitors are coming each years.
