Abstract / Summary
In this article we discuss the role of the instructor and learner, the learning event and the positioning of the teacher in a learner-centred environment. The modern discourse of Educational Technology is in a constant state of change, adapting old practices to facilitate learning in a digital era. The only thing constant seems to be that we are in a pedagogical, educational, technological shift. What is then the role of the learner and what is the role of the instructor in a world of shift? We contend that roles are important in the constant shift and that the shift actually heightens their importance.
