Abstract / Summary
The review highlights both the differences and the similarities of the disciplines of architecture and textiles with observations that date as far back as 1957. Practical/functional aspects are discussed as working alongside the emotional/sensory. As well as touching on the personal, ideas of the universal are also presented. Examples include reference to certain films and also discussion of theatre sets and costumes. The more historical work is seen in a contemporary setting. Several projects at different universities are discussed that include the University of Borås, Sweden and Berlin University of the Arts.
