AfteRite and Woolf Works

AfteRite and Woolf Works is a ballet under the original idea and choreography by Wayne McGregor(CBE) with a video installation by Ravi Deepres.

Grounded by the previous ballet the Rite of Spring by Russian composer Igor Stravinsky, this performance explore different understandings and renewal of life in a close future from different perspective.
As design associate, my work was to help to identify similarities and parallels between biological and cellular growth or patterns with the primal desert landscape.
Indeed natural forms are likely to exhibit self-similarity at many different levels of scale such as close up of micro or macrocosm levels.
For this exploration of the Chilean/Bolivian landscape for its landscape richness, civilization origin and outside earth connection by the observatories was initiated. A series of shot selection, storytelling and visual artistic direction were explored during the development phase in order to connect internal body(cellular) - nature (desert landscapes) - external earth(observatories/ stars/data).
The sequences where projected to form a multi screen installation premiered at MET and European premier Copenhagen.

Woolfs Works ballet is Inspired by the writings of Virginia Woolf, this performance explore three different area of her universe : Miss Dalloway, Orlando, Wave.
In relation with the video designer, the aim was to research and create visualization which would illustrate and create emotional and visual experience to the general public. Following her book, interpreting her figurative writing, life path and place, work has been created using typography, colour coding and in relation to nature.

The sequences where projected to form a multi screen installation premiered at Royal Opera House, London and at La Scala in Milan.
